When Should I Clean My Swimming Pool Filter Cartridge?

!±8± When Should I Clean My Swimming Pool Filter Cartridge?

Doing laps in your own swimming pool is very relaxing and healthy. Laps start to loose there flavor when you see the pool getting a grimy brown color. To prevent your pool getting a brown grimy color, you can change the swimming pool filter cartridge. How do you know when to change it? Well, you will definitely want to change it before your pool turns brown and I have included some guidelines on what do about your cartridge.

One of the most apparent ways of figuring out if you should change your filter is by looking at your filter's pressure indicator. The indicator is on the outside of your filter housing. The indicator or gauge will show you what pressure your pool should be at. Make sure you look out for your filter going over the recommended pressure.

Remember when I mentioned the pool being a brown color. I wasn't kidding; this can actually happen if you don't pay attention to your cartridge. The cartridge can gather dirt, leaves or other debris and it then becomes extremely difficult for the pump to do its job thoroughly. If you pump and cartridge aren't working properly, your pool will become a brown mess.

When you purchase a new swimming pool filter cartridge, it will have a pressure reading on it. Pay attention to the pressure reading because this will be your baseline to what a healthy pool will look like.

If your swimming pool filter cartridges are in good condition then your pump will be also. If everything is working properly, then you result will be a clean pool.
